I am Associate Professor in Medical Humanities and group leader at The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research, in the section for Cardiometabolic Health in Culture and Society. My work involves both academic research in medical humanities, museology and history of medicine and an active curatorial practice. In doing so, I combine both research-based curatorial practice and a practice-based academic research, something that Medical Museion’s position as a university museum uniquely affords. In particular, I have explored ways of combining art, science and history in inter- and transdisciplinary exhibitions. This has resulted in projects such as The World is in You at Kunsthal Charlottenborg in Copenhagen (winner of the 2022 Annual Engagement Award from the Organization of Danish Museums) and Mind the Gut (winner of the 2015 Vision Award from Bikuben Foundation and the 2019 UMAC Annual Award, the largest award in the university museum world).
