Thomas Söderqvist Postgraduates and postdoctoral researchers are invited to attend the workshop ‘Approches to the History of Medicine: Discussing Methodology’ at the University of Warwick, Friday 19 January, 2007.
Individual sessions will be led by academics exploring current and developing methodologies in the history of medicine. All sessions will take the form of discussion sessions – suggested readings will be circulated in advance, and speakers will present for around 20-30 minutes, with 30-40 minutes for questions and discussion. Speakers include:
- Professor David Arnold (Warwick): “Can Medicine (Still) Colonise Bodies?”
- Dr Jonathan Reinarz (Birmingham): “Putting Medicine in its Place”
- Dr Claudia Stein (Warwick): “How to Define Disease in the Past?”
- Dr Flurin Condrau (Manchester): “The Patient’s Perspective”
